Welcome to the Parent Teacher Association

The Parent Teacher Association is a partnership between all staff and parents and friends, and is to be congratulated for the dedication and commitment to raising funds and enhancing the learning experience for our pupils.  Meetings are held at school on a regular basis and all parents/guardians of pupils on roll and staff are welcome to attend. 

The meetings are friendly and informal and include coffee and refreshments.  It is an opportunity to make new friends, listen to others, and share enthusiasm, experiences and skills with each other; all of which benefit the pupils at this special school. Occasionally members of the PTA will arrange for an external provider / professional to share information and news, both local and national, which is relevant to pupils with special needs and their families.  

The PTA actively seeks out ways of enhancing the pupils’ education through the release of their funds to support extra-curricular activities.  The Summer Play Scheme operates during the summer holidays, and provides an opportunity for pupils to keep in touch with each other outside of school term time and, of course, to have enjoyable learning opportunities together.  The PTA has also raised funds to purchase two minibuses.  The PTA provide class funds throughout the year, and contribute many additional learning resources.  Fundraising events vary and always bring the wider community together to have fun, celebrate, and raise money.

If you are interested in attending the PTA meetings,  please look at the meeting dates and just come along on the day.   You do not have to commit yourself to doing anything that you do not want to do, and although it may seem daunting on your first visit, you will receive a very warm welcome from everyone.
